Consulting Expert: working with you and your legal team to help you through your litigated divorce

Litigation Support

If you have an Attorney and are in a litigation process but would like the expertise of a mental health professional trained and experienced in divorce, then a Consulting Expert could be a good addition to your legal team.

Supportive Role

A Consulting Expert can assist your legal team in breaking down the litigation process, improving communication and understanding, educating about parenting plan options and child development, and strategizing about navigating complicated family dynamics to work toward agreements.

Scope of Work

A Consulting Expert can have expertise in many areas and the scope of the work is defined in the agreement with the firm that hires them.  As Psychologists in the role of Consulting Expert, we are not providing therapy, evaluations, or expert witness services.  Referrals and resources are provided for additional needs, like therapy.

Hired by the Attorney

A Consulting Expert can be requested by the client and discussed with their Attorney, but the Attorney and their firm hire the Consulting Expert to provide the expertise needed to assist with your case.

Offering Expertise in:

  • Communication
  • Processing styles to facilitate understanding of complex concepts
  • Emotional support during proposal development and decision making
  • Parenting plans
  • Child development
  • Mental health concerns
  • Substance use
  • Domestic violence
  • Navigating conflict
